May 2019 Recap
We took a quick trip to Oahu to attend a wedding. Some things that I absolutely cannot stop daydreaming about:
Local tropical fruit. I literally ate papaya every single day on the island. Papaya soft serve from Utsuji Farms at KCC Farmer’s Market? One of my favorite things in the world. I was also on an endless search to consume anything and everything lilikoi flavored.
The mountains! The lush greenery! The vast variety of beaches and shorelines! How could I ever stay indoors when it’s so overwhelmingly beautiful to be outside?!
Shrimp trucks at North Shore. Just pick one and eat - it's hard to be disappointed when you're eating fresh garlicky shrimp in paradise.
We brought some quick dry towels and they came into good use every single day, even if it was just placed in the car to protect the rental seats from getting wet from our swim clothes.
Do some research and bring reef safe sunscreen to protect the marine life, because you'll be in the water A LOT. Another environmentally conscious option would be to wear a rash guard or other UPF clothing!
Favorite video of the month: Brené Brown: The Call to Courage
I learned to make a really yummy vegan jjajangmyeon thanks to Seonkyeong Longest.
Learning to incorporate batch work into my work style, and I’m finally starting to feel like I’m working smarter instead of working harder.
More crazy dog parent things:
We filmed how we prep Luna’s raw meals at home for a social media contest, and we won first place! Watch here.
Luna got some doggles to protect her eyes while biking with Kino, car rides, and for general UV protection since she enjoys looking straight into the sun.
Raw feeding a puppy means continuously recalculating percentages and weights, so I finally made a spreadsheet to easily refer to when meal prepping. Too ~extra~, you say? You’ve gotta check out some of the stuff I see in my raw feeding Facebook group.
