February 2019 Recap
Starting off my growing season with some baby kale! I bought a little bunch at the Pearl Farmer’s Market, cut off the top to eat in a salad, and planted the rest. Kale is super hardy and grows well even at lower temps!
Spent Valentine’s Day visiting the brand new IKEA that just opened in San Antonio. We had a blast and came home with some new glass jars for bulk goods and some lingonberry jam!
Purchased a loom and started a weaving hobby I’ve been wanting to explore for a while. Here are my first two pieces.
Loving my new Litto Howler adventure pack! I take this on walks, to the park, and every time we go out because it fits so much stuff and keeps Luna’s stuff separate from mine!
Made the splurge on a high quality, sustainably sourced cutting board from Material Kitchen, and it is the most gorgeous thing in my kitchen right now. Bonus points for supporting fellow Asian American entrepreneurs!
Favorite read of the month - Many of my friendships have relegated to social media interactions once I physically move away - and I move, a lot. But these digital micro interactions, superficial as they may seem, play an important role in my ability to still participate in my friends’ lives, and thus sustain them in a low-maintenance fashion. Quite grateful for technology these days.
Heard of Green Circle Salons? They provide North America’s only sustainable salon solution to recover and repurpose beauty waste, allowing salons to repurpose and recover up to 95% of resources such as hair, leftover hair color, foils, color tubes, aerosol cans, paper and plastics. Something worth pondering when choosing your next stylist!
