October 2019 Recap
It’s finally feeling like winter in San Antonio! Although it appears we skipped over Autumn… One day it’s in the high 80s and the next in the low 30s! Either way, Kino and I finally made our way out to Enchanted Rock State Park to see the 360 degree view of Hill Country. It was a much easier hike than expected, but nevertheless a very cool experience. We enjoyed our lunch at Emma and Ollie’s in Fredericksburg, and we stopped by for some goodies at Das Peach Haus before heading home.
October Foodie Things
We tried InCup, a new food truck in town that specializes in Brazilian Street Food. We are big fans! Especially since you get to browse through the best plant boutique in town while waiting for your order.
Remember the Spicy Hot Chicken Ramen challenge? They’ve turned it into the most amazing (and spiciest) almonds I’ve ever tasted! Kino got these on his trip to Korea so I’m not sure how to source these in the states.
This black sesame banana milkshake has been a repeat recipe for me lately!
At the beginning of the month, I picked up some seedlings at the local nursery. Every week, I’ve been able to harvest a substantial variety of lettuces, arugula, mizuna, etc.! Along with my kale plants, I’ve been super happy with our leafy greens consumption.
October Doggo Things
I ordered dehydrated rabbit ears and rabbit feet from Hare Today for the first time, and I’m super happy with them! Shipping was super fast, and Luna enjoys them! In case you were curious, fur is a fantastic source of fiber and manganese for your dog. Definitely will be ordering from them again in the future.
We also tried Answers Fermented Chicken Feet this month - so fitting for Halloween! These are quite pricey and come out to $1 per foot, but I would definitely recommend them as treats. Answers only uses animals that are organic, pasture-raised, and humanely raised and handled, plus chicken feet are fantastic for oral, bone, and joint health.
